December 6 (Sunday) 1 pm

Opening Lunch of German Cultural Week Goa

Baba's Wood Café, Bela Goa Annexe, opp. Carasid pastry shop, Miramar, Panjim

For our opening lunch this year we have chosen Baba's Wood Café in Panjim. It is an Italian restaurant managed by Ms Maria Grazia from Milan (Italy) and specialising in traditional pizzas, pasta and home made gelato, situated at Miramar, Panjim.

Open to members and friends of IGSG - Indo German Friendship Society Goa. Limited number of participants. Preregistration required. Please contact.

 

December 7 (Monday) 9:30 pm till lunch time

Bakery Course by German Ladies

Agnel Ashram, NH 17, Verna

Three German ladies will show the participants of the class how to prepare three typical German cakes (Bavarian Prinzregententorte, apple cake, biscuit roll)  and a German full wheat bread.

Prinzregententorte is a Bavarian torte, which consists of at least six, mostly seven, thin layers of sponge cake interlaid with chocolate buttercream. The exterior is covered in a dark chocolate glaze. The Prinzregententorte is very popular in Bavaria, available in cake shops all year round.

Guided tour to German company Putzmeister

Verna Industrial Estate, Kesarvale, Verna

There will be a guided tour of the offices and factory of the German company "Putzmeister Concrete Machines" based in Goa. Location: Plot N4, Phase IV, Verna Industrial Estate.

"Photographic Impressions from Germany" Photo exhibition

Ray's Atelier, Gandaulim, Colva

Exhibition by German photographer "Bero" Bernhard Robert Blumöhr, Frankfurt, Germany. Opening time: 11 am to 7 pm every day. Inauguration: December 8 (Tuesday), 6 pm. Finissage: December 18 (Friday), 6 pm

Prize distribution of Drawing Competition

Vidya Vikas Academy, Margao

Closing ceremony and prize distribution of the drawing competition among the students of the school Vidya Vikas Academy, on the theme "Germany". The prizes were sponsored by Deutsche Welle, Germany's International Broadcaster.

Filmscreening: "Fack Ju Göhte" German with English subtitles

After a 13-month stretch in prison, the crook Zeki Müller is looking for the loot from his last robbery. He applies for a position as a janitor at the school, since, as it happens, the money is buried under the new school gym. However, Zeki lands a job as a supply teacher. He has to deal with a naive trainee teacher and problem kids who can’t even spell “Fuck you, Goethe” correctly. Thus, the young man unintentionally embarks on a career in education. Bora Dagtekin’s wild farce was the most successful German film of 2013.

December 6: Opening lunch

Opening lunch of the German Cultural Week at the Italian restaurant Baba's Wood Café at Miramar, Panjim. More than 40 members and friends of IGSG chatted over pizza and pasta.

 

 

 

 

 

 

December 7: Bakery class

Nicole, Gudula and Margarete show how to bake Prinzregent cake, biscuit roll, apple cake and a full wheat bread with four grains. All participants were enthusiastic.

    

 

 

    

 

 

 

December 8: Visit to German company Putzmeister at Verna, Goa

A group of Indo German Friendship Society Goa visited the German company Putzmeister Concrete Machines Pvt. Ltd. for a guided tour through its headquarters and factory. Mr. Wilfried Theissen, managing director of Putzmeister, welcomed the group and kindly informed about the management and activity of the company. After that the group had the opportunity to see the modern installations and equipment of the company.

 

 

 

 

 

 

December 8: Photoexhibition

Inauguration of the exhibition "Photographic Impressions from Germany" by German photographer "Bero" Bernhard Robert Blumöhr at Ray's Atelier, Colva.

 

The wide spectrum of the photos by the artist "Bero" in "Photographic Impressions from Germany" was generated when en route on his photographic expeditions. The photos show a conglomerate of people, landscapes, architecture and abstract details which are partly alienated and double exposed and are "selected at random" just as the photographic artist chooses to do.

   

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

December 12: Oktoberfest
