February 10 to 12, 2015

Sixteen members and friends of IGSG (Indo German Friendship Society Goa), visited on February 11, 2015 the Volkswagen India plant, located in the industrial hub of Chakan, Pune. The plant is one of the most modern facilities of Volkswagen Group where the visitors got a chance to experience German engineering, made in India.

The excursion to Pune included  in the morning of the 11th February the visits of Shaniwar Wada Palace, built in 1736 by the Peshwa rulers, as well as the Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum, a fascinating collection of Indian artifacts.

In the afternoon the group was guided trough the Volkswagen plant. Our enthousiastic guide Mr. Chaitanya Halbe, Assistant Manager, Group Communications of VW, knew his text in English as well as in German leading us on an almost two hours very impressive tour. In the evening a dinner concluded the very sucessfull trip to Pune.
