Opening Lunch of German Cultural Week Goa<\/strong><\/p>\n

Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias, Miramar Circle, Miramar, Panjim<\/strong><\/p>\n

For our opening lunch this year we have chosen the restaurant La Brasserie at Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias, at Miramar, Panjim. Members of IGSG and friends are most welcome.<\/p>\n

Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias was founded 1926 and then named \u201cClube Gaspar Dias\u201d.<\/p>\n

In 1934, Mrs. Josephine Hogaz, an American Industrial Magnate, introduced the game of Tennis in Goa. She also provided the finance for the making of the first tennis court in the Club premises. The Club then inherited the name of \u201cCLUBE TENNIS DE GASPAR DIAS\u201d. The Clubhouse is situated at a prime location, on Goa\u2019s most attractive Miramar Beach.<\/p>\n

Nearby was the Fort Gaspar Dias which construction was initiated 1598 by the Portuguese viceroy of the Portuguese Estate of India, D. Francisco da Gama. Together with the Fort of Reis Magos, located on the opposite side of the River Mandovi, the Fort Gaspar Dias served as a defense fort at the mouth of the river. Im 19. Century it crumbled with neglect and was ultimately razed to the ground to make way for development works for the road to Dona Paula.<\/p>\n

Experience of promoting international science and technology projects in Germany<\/strong><\/p>\n

Presentation by Ms. Dr. Ursula Kleinhans, former Responsible for International Projects at the Federal German Ministry of Science and Technology<\/strong><\/p>\n

Goa State Central Library, Lecture Hall, Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, Panjim<\/strong><\/p>\n

India is one of the most important partners in international cooperation in science, technology and higher education. There is a long standing tradition of more than 60 years. More and more subjects in various fileds by many partners have been included in the last years and the mutual interest is expressed by government consultations on this subject every second year.<\/p>\n

A mile stone in this cooperation was the opening of the Indo-German Science Center (IGSTC) in Gurgaon in December 2010. In this presentation, a short overview will be given, on which partners are cooperating and in which fields.<\/p>\n
