A first ever German language course was held in Margao – Goa in January and February 2008. The course, for beginners in the language, was organised through the cooperation of Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics – a Commerce college affiliated to the University of Bombay, and the Indo German Friendship Society, Goa (IGSG).
About 20 students followed intensively the classes conducted in the college premises by the German teacher Ms Margarete Hermanns Xavier. The students got at the end of the course, in a special ceremony, the course certificate. The course which was announced in local newspapers, will be continued still in this year.
